Inmates at Parker County Jail in Texas were able to save a Corrections Officer’s life after he suddenly had a heart-attack.
Eight prisoners busted out of their holding cell to help the officer even though that could have proved dangerous for them.
“It never crossed my mind not to help, whether he’s got a gun or a badge. If he falls down, I’m gonna help him,” one of the prisoners was quoted as saying.
The prisoners found no pulse; they screamed for help and banged so loudly on doors that deputies UPSTAIRS came running.
Now, here’s the kicker — the guard had keys and a gun. It could have been a very bad situation for the jail. Instead, the shackled prisoners got help and were then ushered back to their cell as deputies tried to figure out what was going on.
The Corrections Officer survived and is in stable condition.
Ironically, the cell the inmates broke out of to help the officer has been reinforced so that such an “escape” cannot occur again.
