Eric and Chad discuss five ways that you can hide gun purchases from your significant other in this humorous episode of Iraqveteran8888. There may have been a time or many times where you came home and had to sneak a box into the house because you felt guilty about purchasing yet another gun to add to your ridiculously loaded collection. When your wife raises an eyebrow and asks you how many guns you have, you’ll probably tell her you don’t know, not because you’re giving her attitude, but because you’ve truly lost count and don’t want to know. And when she follows up with, “Why do you need so may guns?”, you’ll want to say something like, “Well, why do you need so many pocketbooks or pairs of shoes?” But don’t.

If you have a relationship based on trust, then there’s no need to be defensive because she’s only asking rhetorically and knows that gun collection provides some sort of fulfillment for you. However, on the off chance that your significant other catches you on a bad day, here are five things you can do:

#1 Leave with an empty gun case and give the impression that you’re going to the range, then come back with the case full of one or more newly purchased guns.

#2 Take a gun and tell her you need to have it “repaired”. Come back with a different, more expensive gun you either swapped for or bought.

#3 Pretend you bought the gun for her as a gift. If she likes it, then that’s a huge bonus.

#4 Tell her that you traded for it. If you explain really well why you got it, odds are that she’ll agree with you in the end.

#5 When you actually bring your gun to the repair shop, put it in a big bag with a lot of hidden compartment that you can fill with mounts, pistols, sights, and other items.

These are just a few things that you can try. There’s a huge chance none of these will work, but at the end of the day, relationships are about being open with each other and understanding each other – and that includes everything, even your proclivity for hoarding guns.
